Full Time Psychiatric ARNP/Nurse Practitioner

Summary: As a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in an outpatient mental health clinic, you will provide psychiatric outpatient services in collaboration with our team of mental health therapists and clinicians. As an ARNP, you will directly provide psychiatric services while collaborating with mental health therapists to ensure a whole person approach to our community.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Provide advanced services consistent with the ethical guidelines of the nursing profession and the policies and procedures of Horizon Therapy Group

· Examine a variety of ages of patients and diagnose mental health conditions

· Recommend and prescribe appropriate medical care for psychiatric diagnoses

· Medication evaluation and initiation and short- and long-term management of prescribed medications

· Ordering and interpreting lab tests, as needed, for patients prior to and/or during prescription management

· Consultation with families, mental health therapists, and other community support services or medical providers as needed for continuity of care

· Case management and ongoing education as needed

· Document information regarding patient care and behavior as required in software management system

· Participate in patient treatment planning and implementation as needed with outpatient mental health staff

· Maintain confidentiality in accordance with established standards of care

· Perform other job-related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS FOR POSITION:
· Graduate from an accredited and approved ARNP training program and current licensure to practice medicine in states where services are delivered

· Current Iowa state Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) license with prescriptive privileges or eligibility to obtain licensure upon hire

· Valid National Provider Identification (NPI) number

· Valid DEA Controlled Substance Registration Certification

· Knowledge and skills in English usage, interpersonal relationships and excellent communication skills

· Proficiency with electronic records management and telehealth services

REQUIRED CERTIFICATES/LICENSES/REGISTRATIONS:
· Must hold a current and active Iowa state ARNP license with prescriptive privileges or be able to obtain it
